Obsidier Tower: A New Architectural Marvel in Egypt's Capital

The Obsidier Tower is a new architectural masterpiece being built in the heart of Egypt’s capital, Cairo. As the name suggests, the building is made up of black obsidian glass and is set to become one of Egypt’s most iconic landmarks.

The Obsidier Tower has been designed by internationally renowned American architect firm, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. The 385-meter-tall skyscraper is set to be completed by 2022 and will be located in the New Administrative Capital, which is 45km east of Cairo.

The tower has been designed to stand out from the other buildings in the area. It will be the tallest building in Africa and is set to become the fourth tallest single-use tower in the world after the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the Shanghai Tower, and the Abraj Al Bait Clock Tower in Mecca.

The Obsidier Tower will be an all-exclusive-use development, meaning that it will not be open to the public. Instead, it will be home to luxury apartments, office spaces, and a hotel. The building is expected to house up to 27,000 people, making it the largest single-use building in the world.

The skyscraper’s design is inspired by the ancient Egyptian lotus flower, with its twisting, ribbon-like shape. The building is built around a hollow central core that allows natural light to enter the building and provides a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of the city.

The central hollow will house a grand public space, featuring gardens, water features, and a selection of retail outlets. The tower is also set to feature a skybridge, which will connect the two sides of the building and provide an unparalleled view of the city from almost 300 meters above ground.
